3 of NYC Best Pizzerias

1Keste Pizzeria

This is the Margherita pizza at Keste Pizzeria
Last week I was fortunate enough to try out some of NYC's finest pizzas thanks to Scott's Pizza Tours (www.scottspizzatours.com).  The first stop on our pizzeria journey was Keste Pizzeria.   - This pizzeria serves traditional Napolese pizza among many other types of pizzas.  The restaurant had the feeling of being an old Naples pizzeria.  This authentic Neapolitan style pizzeria serves a wide variety of pizzas from different time periods.  The first slice I sampled was a mast'nicola the "first pizza". It seemed greasy with small pieces of meat on top. Later I found out that this pizza is mostly lard (or olive oil) and bread.  It is believed that this is the first style of pizza ever  created.  The second slice I tried at Keste's was my favorite of the entire tour!  Regina Margherita It was mozzarella cheese with tomato sauce and basil.  It had a creamy texture and was very yummy!   Be sure to get in early because it gets packed quickly!
2John's Pizzera

The next stop on the tour was John's Pizzera, a more casual setting with tables that you can carve your name into.  The slice of pizza was large, and is the typical style people think of when they're looking for the traditional New York-style pizza.  I tried the basic pie, with red sauce and mozzarrella with no extra toppings.  It was scruptious.

3Famous Ben's

This is the Palermo pizza at Famous Ben's
Famous Ben's is another great NYC pizzeria.  By this time in the tour, however, I was pretty stuffed.  Still, nothing could keep me away from sampling Ben's classic Sicilian pizza.  We tried a Palermo pizza.  This pizza is soft and very thick.  It was rectangular shaped and topped off with sauce, onions, and breadcrumbs. Although my belly was going to explode, I was still able to scarf down a whole slice.

After my tasty adventure in the world of NYC pizzerias, I can say that any of these three pizzas spots are earn the name of NYC's finest pizzerias.

I dare you all to try a slice at each of these great places.  ALso, check out Scott's Pizza Tours, it's a great way to New York's best neighborhoods.
